    Fuel Economy

The Equinox’s gas mileage is 1 highway mile per gallon better than the Tucson, however the Tucson’s gas mileage is 1 city mile per gallon better than the Equinox.  In other words, their gas mileage for both cars is about the same.  The difference comes into play when looking at the fuel capacity between the two cars.  The Equinox can hold 2.4 more gallons than the Tucson (18.8 vs. 16.4).  This may seem miniscule, but this will save you from taking as many trips to the gas station and in the long run, will save you quite a bit of money!  Here at Chevy, we believe that you should be spending more time driving your car than filling it up, and the Equinox’s superior fuel capacity will help you do so.

    Vehicle Safety

Both the Equinox and the Tucson have standard driver and passenger frontal airbags, front side-impact airbags, side-impact head airbags, front seatbelt pretensioners, front wheel drive, height adjustable front shoulder belts, plastic fuel tanks, four-wheel antilock brakes, traction control, electronic stability systems to prevent skidding, rearview cameras, available all wheel drive, collision warning systems, lane departure warning systems, blind spot warning systems, rear parking sensors and rear cross-path warning.

    Warranty Coverage

While Chevrolet has a 3-year/36,000 mile Bumper-to-Bumper warranty and a 5-year/60,000 PowerTrain warranty, Hyundai has a 5-year/60,000 mile Bumper-to-Bumper warranty and a 10-year/100,000 mile PowerTrain warranty.  In this respect, it may seem like Hyundai provides the better option.  This, however, is not the case.  Chevy is able to offer two unique warranties that Hyundai doesn’t cover!

So what features does the Equinox have that the Tucson does not? First, the Chevy Equinox comes with a Roadside Assistance Program. This program features the following services:

<> > Lockout Service – you will be assisted when you accidentally lock your keys inside the vehicle.

<> > Flat Tire Change – a spare will be installed for you.

<> > Fuel Delivery – If you run out of gas, $5 worth of fuel will be brought to you to get you back on the road.

<> > Emergency Towing – your car will be towed to your nearest dealer.

<> > Jump-Starts – you will be assisted if you need your car jump-started.

By including this Roadside Assistance Program as well as a 2-year Maintenance warranty, Chevy gives you two more reasons to choose the Equinox over the Tucson. This impressive warranty coverage makes the 2016 Chevy Equinox the clear choice for ensured vehicle reliability, and it exemplifies Chevy’s dedication to you.

    Summary

The Chevy Equinox’s superior fuel capacity and its exceptional warranty coverage make it the clear choice over the Tucson.
