    Warranty Coverage

Standard in Chevy and Hyundai cars, the Malibu includes a 3-year/36,000-mile Bumper-to-Bumper Limited warranty while the Sonata includes a 5-year/60,000-mile Bumper-to-Bumper Limited Warranty. The Chevy Malibu also has a 5-year/60,000-mile PowerTrain warranty while the Sonata has a 10-year/100,000-mile PowerTrain Warranty. Although Hyundai seems like the better option in these cases, Hyundai’s warranty plans are not transferrible while Chevy’s warranty plans are. This means that if you purchased a 2016 Hyundai Sonata and sold it to someone else before the warranty was up, the person who bought it would not receive the same warranty. Also, the 24 month maintenance on the 2016 Malibu, not offered for 2016 Hyundai Sonata, lowers the cost of ownership for Malibu buyers.

In addition, the Chevy Malibu features a 5-year/60,000-mile Roadside Assistance program. This program features the following services:

      • Lockout Service – You will be assisted when you accidentally lock your keys inside the vehicle.

    • Flat Tire Change – A spare will be installed for you.

    • Fuel Delivery – If you run out of gas, $5 worth of fuel will be delivered to get you back on the road.

    • Emergency Towing – Your car will be towed to its nearest dealer.

    • Jump-Starts – If you need your car jump-started, you will be assisted whether at home or on the road.

The Hyundai Sonata also features the Roadside Assistance Program. Unlike Chevy’s, this will keep your covered for 5 years or unlimited miles. This plan, like stated above, is also not transferrible for the Sonata. On top of that, the Chevy Malibu also includes a 2-year Maintenance warranty that the Hyundai Sonata does not. Our 2-year Maintenance warranty shows that here at Chevy, we are here to serve you in the best way possible.
