Trim Levels (Exterior)
When deciding which Chevy Colorado model is right for you, you'll have to first choose whether you want the crew cab or the extended cab. Next, you can pick the bed size that works best for your lifestyle. Options are either the 5-foot-2-inch bed or the longer 6-foot-2-inch bed. From there, you can choose between the four trim levels. They are ZR2, Z71, LT, and WT. The Colorado also comes in some stellar colors that really make it stand out in a crowd. A few of the most popular options include Crush, Bright Blue Metallic, and Cherry Red.
Engine (Power)
You'll have your choice of three engines to power your Colorado. The standard option is a 2.5-liter four-cylinder engine that produces 200 horsepower and 191 pound-feet of torque. It's mated to a six-speed automatic transmission. Both of the additional engines are available as options. First up is the 3.6-liter DOHC V-6 engine that creates an impressive 308 horsepower and 275 pound-feet of torque. This engine is mated to an eight-speed automatic transmission. Then, there's the Duramax 2.8-liter turbo diesel engine that delivers 181 horsepower and 369 pound-feet of torque. No matter which one you choose, you're sure to get all the power you need.
Performance
Although the Chevy Colorado is a midsize truck, it can tow a maximum of 3,500 pounds with the standard engine. When you equip it with the 3.6-liter V-6 engine, you'll be able to tow up to 7,000 pounds. For 7,700 pounds of maximum towing ability, opt for the 2.8-liter turbo diesel engine. While this truck may not get the gas mileage of a sedan, its 19 mpg in the city and 25 mpg on the highway is great mileage for a truck in this segment. It can even get up to 28 mpg on the highway when it's equipped with the turbo-diesel engine.
Interior
You'll be impressed with all the convenient storage spaces provided throughout the cabin of the 2022 Colorado. Available at the base trim level are dual rear seats with under-seat storage, or you can opt for a rear bench seat if you need more room for passengers. When you move up to the LT trim level, you'll enjoy using the Chevrolet Infotainment 3 system with an 8-inch color touch screen. Other available features include leather-appointed front seats, heated front seats, a heated steering wheel, and a Bose premium sound system.
Safety Features
Built with a high-strength steel frame and a reinforced safety cage, the 2022 Chevy Colorado will keep you and your passengers safe no matter where you go. A rearview camera is standard on every model and will help you see what's behind you when you're backing up. Available safety features include forward collision alert, lane departure warning, and rear park assist.
