Trim Levels (Exterior)

The 2022 Chevy Silverado comes in the light-duty 1500, the heavy-duty 2500 and 3500, and the medium-duty 4500, 5500, and 6500. Each of these has a model lineup with features that appeal to a wide range of drivers. For 2021, the Silverado 1500 switches up which trims are offered with certain bed and cab configurations. This means, you can't get the standard bed with a crew cab on the Custom, RST, LTZ, or High Country models, and the double cab with a standard bed isn't available on the RST or LTZ models. However, you'll love the new DuraBed truck bed liner that's exclusive to heavy-duty models, and the enlarged corner side steps makes getting your tools and gear from the back of your truck simple. For more power, opt for the Silverado 3500 with the dual-rear-wheel setup. It offers the most towing capability.

Engine (Power)

You'll have your choice between two powerful engines for the 2022 Silverado HD models. First up is a 6.6-liter V-8 gas-powered engine that produces 401 horsepower and 464 pound-feet of torque. This engine replaces the 6.0-liter Vortec engine found on previous models and is paired to a six-speed automatic transmission. Your other option is a 6.6-liter Duramax turbo diesel engine that pumps out 445 horsepower and an impressive 910 pound-feet of torque. This one comes mated to a smooth-shifting 10-speed Allison automatic transmission.

Performance

If it's towing power you need, you'll get it with the 2022 Silverado HD models. The towing capacity has been increased from 23,100 lbs to a best-in-class 35,500 lbs when you have the diesel engine. Additionally, improvements have been made to the axles, U joints, and other components to make this truck even better for towing. Silverado HD models also have an available advanced trailering system that improves your towing experience.

Interior

With all the comforts and conveniences found inside the cabin of the 2022 Silverado, you'll want your drive to last just a little bit longer. Depending on the trim level you choose, you'll enjoy features such as 10-way power front seats, heated front seats, an 8-inch touch screen, USB ports, dual-zone climate control, and SiriusXM radio. New for 2022 models is the ability to use Apple CarPlay and Android Auto wirelessly. This means you no longer have to worry about plugging in your phone to have access to your apps.

Safety Features

Many safety features are both standard and available on the Chevy Silverado. These include blind-spot monitoring with rear cross-path detection, lane departure warning, automatic high-beam control, and a following distance indicator to ensure you stay a safe distance from the car in front of you. Forward collision alert and automatic emergency braking are just a few more of the available safety features you can have when you drive the 2022 Chevy Silverado.
